When Kraft announced they were going to remove all artificial ingredients from their Mac & Cheese, there was a huge backlash.
People were going to say it wasn’t the same as their nostalgic childhood mac and cheese. So we launched the new mac & cheese in the old box and didn’t tell anyone it was new for 3 months.
It was the world’s largest blind taste test. And it worked.
I was part of the social team that playfully revealed how no one noticed the recipe changed. We dug around on the internet and found all the dumb stuff people talked about over the last three months that wasn’t their mac & cheese tasting any different.
Then Colbert picked it up and did a little segment on the blind taste test.
